, one 听of the country鈥檚 leading steel pole manufacturers, announced today it will 听expand operations to Fayette County, Ohio and open a new steel plant. The 听Louisiana-based company will move into an existing facility in Washington 听Court House, Ohio and produce tapered tubular steel poles for the electric 听utility industry.

The 听expansion provides the space and manpower needed for DIS-TRAN Steel to better 听serve its customers in the Ohio Valley, Northeast and Upper Midwest parts of 听the United States. Over the next five years, DIS-TRAN Steel plans to hire 200 听new team members to provide high performance products for its customers 听unique and ever-changing needs.

鈥淲e鈥檝e 听monitored the market for a long time. There is a strong demand for steel to 听maintain and expand the electrical grid and Ohio is strategically the best 听location for DIS-TRAN Steel to grow not just our products and services, but 听also our team,鈥 says Donnie Roberts, PE, President of DIS-TRAN Steel.

The facility, located at 1629 Old US 35 South East, Washington Court House, OH, 听will give DIS-TRAN Steel an additional 58,000 square feet of space on a 听25-acre lot. Jarrod Gemar, VP of Business Operations for DIS-TRAN Steel says 听the company will reach full production capability within the first few months 听of 2021.
